The 1979 bertram 28 needed a new velvet drive transmission for its starboard crusader engine. Between that, the starter, shaft seal and miscellaneous parts she was apart for a long time from “mechanics” who were less than honest. Today we were able to trailer the Bertram 28 down to Cooleys landing boat ramp in Fort Lauderdale and water test her. With her new boat paint she looks beautiful

Ran from Wilmington Nc to Savannah Ga in the Bertram 28 with a quick stop in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Had a blast but faced some struggles on this trip. The boat performed well but the storm and airing out the props too many times wrecked one of the transmissions, a borg Warner velvet drive powered by crusader 270 350s

Ran from VA beach to Oregon inlet in the morning and wasted a day getting bad gas from Oregon Inlet Marina… be careful! Bertram 28 adventure We rigged the saltwater wash down pump to run as a fuel pump to suck out the bad gas and rust water from the bottom of the gas tank. Finally got going and headed to Beaufort Nc for more gas at Town Creek Marina… very nice people 👍

Got stopped by presidential security and escorted through the canal behind Joe Bidens house in Delaware. We had no idea! Atlantic City Delaware was a great stop and we had beautiful weather! This was a great day on the water and the boat ran great. Follow along for the next episode where things really start to go wrong.
